The DiSC model offers an easy and rememberable way for us to understand ourselves and those around us. However, it isn’t simplistic.

Through DiSC, we learn our natural behaviors and why our co-workers, friends, and family behave the way they do.  Everyone has a specific DiSC style and it’s through the assessment that we can start to understand anyone (including ourselves) at a deeper level.

Everything DiSC Workplace uses an advanced algorithm for testing to ensure the highest level of personalization and accuracy compared to any other DISC-based assessment. Depending on how you answer the assessment questions, you will receive your unique DiSC style and, potentially, additional priorities.

Once we learn our DiSC style, we can start to understand other DiSC styles and why our relationships might be strained because of behavioral differences. This self-awareness is crucial to begin to develop our Emotional Intelligence.

This understanding becomes a foundation for both deciphering who we are and why others behave the way they do. Next, we can start to learn about how to stretch towards different mindsets to match the situation that we are in.

DiSC Teaches your priorities

Your primary DiSC Style is important, but understanding your behavioral priorities might be even more important. 

The DiSC map that is shown above presents a person who has a moderately inclined i-Style. You can see that by the placement of the dot:

  • Dots that are closer to the edge of the circle are more aligned with their style.
  • Dots that are closer to the center of the circle have an easier time stretching to other parts of the DiSC map.

Every DiSC style has at least three priorities which are shown around the map. A person with the i-Style typically has the priorities of Action, Enthusiasm, and Collaboration for their priorities. However, this particular person also has an additional priority of Support. This is unusual for a person with an i-Style. Everything DiSC Workplace is designed to identify these nuances. Having an additional priority is neither negative nor good – it is provided to help add depth to your understanding of your personal behavioral style.
